Why we need your support.

Today, we need to speak plainly.

We have spent months fighting to open the doors of El Abismo Metal Pub in Ciudad Real. We have put our savings, our work, our hopes and enormous personal sacrifice into this project.

What began as a dream has become an endless obstacle course.

First came the incidents, water damage, building work and delays. Then came difficulties living alongside others in the building and disputes with several neighbours, making our situation even harder.

And while we keep looking for solutions, outstanding insurance claims remain unresolved in full.

We have also sought finance.

Over these months we have approached several banks to bring our project to completion.

We have faced requests to open accounts, provide documents and complete paperwork for payment terminals, insurance, guarantees and even guarantors.

We have submitted financial and business documents, spent weeks on administration and provided the requested guarantees. After all that paperwork, finance is refused. Then it all starts again with another bank.

It is particularly frustrating to be asked for evidence of trading activity and solvency when the business needs finance precisely to finish getting started. We have also sought support from several breweries, without securing the financial backing we need.

We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for a chance to work.

Our project represents a significant investment in premises, equipment, safety and adapting the venue. We aim to complete the final technical and administrative steps needed to begin trading with all the required safeguards. But we are reaching the limits of our resources.

That is why we are launching this crowdfunding campaign.

This is our last card to play. The campaign aims to raise the funds needed to complete the final stage of fitting out and opening El Abismo Metal Pub, including the relevant technical work, certifications and regulatory requirements.

We have decided to turn to you: our community, our friends and everyone who believes Ciudad Real deserves a space dedicated to rock and metal.

We do not want to ask for help without offering something in return. So we have prepared exclusive rewards for our supporters:

If financial institutions have been unable to support our project, we trust that our community can help us bring it to life.

We are tired, and we will not pretend otherwise. Tired of refusals, endless paperwork, disputes that hold us back, waiting for insurance payments and watching the months pass without being able to get to work.

But there is one thing nobody has taken from us: the determination to keep fighting.

El Abismo is more than a pub.

It is a commitment to music culture, enterprise, the local economy and a meeting place for everyone who shares our passion for rock and metal. And now we need you more than ever.

After everything we have fought through, having to abandon the project just before opening would be heartbreaking. We do not want El Abismo to die before it is born.
